Wendy Bley Joins Kleinschmidt

Pittsfield, Maine – June 14, 2019 – Kleinschmidt Associates, an engineering, regulatory, and environmental consulting firm, is pleased to announce the addition of Wendy Bley, as Senior Regulatory Advisor – Hydroelectric, to the Licensing & Permitting Team.

Wendy has a comprehensive background in environmental planning and management, with more than 25 years of experience in hydropower project licensing with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), and has managed licensing activities for both conventional and pumped-storage projects. Ms. Bley is highly knowledgeable of regulations and requirements under the Federal Power Act, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, and National Historic Preservation Act. She is experienced in dealing with federal regulatory agencies including the U.S. EPA, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Forest Service, and others. She is also a trained facilitator and experienced negotiator.

Wendy has an M.S. in Natural Resource Economics from the University of New Hampshire, and B.S. in Biology from George Mason University. She is an active board member of the National Hydropower Association and the Hydropower Research Foundation.
